New Barracuda collaboration streamlines SMB1001 certification for MSPs and their customers
Takeaways:
- Barracuda is collaborating with CyberCert to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Australia and New Zealand achieve cybersecurity compliance.
- BarracudaONE protection covers key security areas required for SMB1001, the international cybersecurity compliance standard.
For small and medium-sized businesses across Australia and New Zealand, achieving cybersecurity compliance just got easier. Barracuda’s recently announced collaboration with CyberCert and managed service providers (MSPs) is designed to give SMBs an easy, affordable path to SMB1001 compliance through the BarracudaONE platform.
CyberCert is an Australian certification body focused on helping SMBs strengthen their cybersecurity posture. Through its platform, MSPs can offer customers a streamlined, trusted path to SMB1001 certification, which is an international, multi-tiered cybersecurity standard designed specifically for SMBs. The framework helps businesses demonstrate cybersecurity maturity while keeping pace with evolving threats.
“AI has lowered the barrier for cybercriminals to develop and automate advanced cyberattacks at scale. SMBs are prime targets of these convincing and evasive threats. With the help of CyberCert we can offer our MSP partners SMB1001 certified product packages that give their customers peace of mind. Not only are their businesses protected, but they also meet the official security standards,” said Dan McLean, Country Manager, Australia, New Zealand & Pacific Islands at Barracuda.
A simpler path to SMB1001 compliance
Through the collaboration with CyberCert, BarracudaONE’s capabilities are packaged into certified offerings that help MSPs to guide SMBs toward recognized SMB1001 compliance more efficiently. By making it easier to align security solutions with SMB1001 standards, the approach reduces complexity and cost while helping businesses move faster to achieving certification.
The collaboration supports key areas of the SMB1001 security standard, including:
- Email security to address phishing, business email compromise (BEC), account takeover, and malware
- Data protection and recoverability to support business continuity and resilience
- Network and remote access protection through firewall and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) options.
- Managed XDR for organization that need an additional layer of threat detection and response
The agreement also includes Barracuda-sponsored CyberCert Certification Credits, which MSPs can unlock once they pilot BarracudaONE and help clients through the certification process.
